No pain, no gain, wrong, think again

How I hate that saying "no pain, no gain". Not only is it erroneous but also dangerous. Your body has a built in system that tells it when to stop or it will be injured. That system is the nervous system and the alarm is pain. To ignore that alarm means damage to your body. If there is pain when you workout - stop, you are doing it wrong. Get guidance on what is causing the pain. You maybe doing nerve ending, tendon or bone damage all of which can take years to repair.

I know that my greatest goal in losing weight is motivation - keeping myself motivated beyond 2-3 weeks. I always find myself giving up on something if I don't see results. I am fairly devoted to a goal for at least 2 months but if I don't see some real change in that time I usually give up and try something else. Motivation is the key with me.

I need to raise my metabolism

I have been having trouble breathing lately after small exertions. Gasping for air is not normal for me. I need to do some mild aerobic exercises to rise my metabolism and strengthen my heart. Unfortunately heart and artery problems run in my family so I have to take care of my circulatory system. A big bonus is that I will be losing weight in the process.

Creams and lotions for sagging skin

Since I am middle aged and slightly overweight I worry about my skin not being elastic enough to bounce back after some weight loss. I am wondering if I should resort to skin tightening creams? That is something I will have to think about.

No need for plastic surgery

I know I have had my husband say "why don't you have your boobs lifted?" I was very surprised that he wanted me to undergo plastic surgery just to have my sagging chest lifted. As I am losing weight slowly I am noticing a general sagging of the skin in my tummy area. Right now I will just do some exercises to tighten the area and hope the skin will tighten too.
